Thanks
to the encouragement and persistence of those of us who live by the motto:
“Where there’s a will, there’s a way!” we were able to save
$2464.00 in mailing costs to get our 9/11 Truth message to our
“fearless” leaders in our nation’s capital. The resulting motor trip
to
Ottawa
went extremely well. … like clockwork as they say. Here’s how it went
down.

At
the beginning of 2008, we, at Global Outlook, began assembling what
we would call a “9/11 Truth Info Pak” of all (3) of the books we had
published on 9/11 and a special DVD (Zeitgeist) to send to all the
Canadian Members of Parliament (MPs) in
Ottawa
to inform them about our concerns. (See
Letters to MPs and Senators here.) This included: 9/11:
Solving the Greatest Crime of All Time – The Best of Global Outlook Vol.
1 (SGCT); 9/11: The
Greatest Crime of All Time – The Best of Global Outlook Vol. 2
(GCT2); Modus Operandi 9/11
– a novel by Canadian Hal Sisson (MO 9/11) and Zeitgeist
– The Movie (Parts 2 and 3 only).
When
Hal Sisson and I originally conceived of the idea of sending just SGCT and
MO 9/11 to
Ottawa
, we took it for granted that it would be “free” to send all MPs, but
according to the manager of the Canada Post it’s only letters under 30
grams that are free, not packages.
Jennifer,
my helper at Global Outlook, found out that it was, in fact, going
to cost $2,464.00 to mail 308 of those packages via Canada Post to
Parliament Hill!
While
I was away at the 9/11 TruthNowTour in Australia in March, Jennifer made
the brilliant decision to include, in our Canadian bulk mailing which was
just going out, an appeal to our Canadian subscribers to help us raise
money to pay for the mailing costs. Over the next two months we ended up
raising $6,888.00 from 100 subscribers! So the mailing costs were easily
covered.
But
… we got several calls and emails from our subscribers insisting that
the mailing should still “somehow” be free.
So
I checked around and found out that if we could find a single MP who would
okay it, we could utilize the internal mailing system on Parliament Hill
to get our packages to the MPs. All we had to do was get them delivered to
Ottawa
.
First,
I tried my MP Bruce Stanton (Conservative MP for Simcoe North) and after a
few days the answer came back that the package (which I described over the
phone as being a good reason why we should pull Canadian troops out of
Afghanistan
) was “too much.” Whatever he meant by that was not explained.
Then
Betsy Wood, monetary reformer and activist in Vancouver, got on the blower
to her MP, Don Bell (Liberal MP for North Vancouver), and we ended up
sending his executive assistant, Jeff, a sample package. After three
weeks, and repeated phone calls, we gave up waiting to hear back from
either of them.
So,
Hal Sisson, decided to walk down to his constituency office and ask Kelly
Newhook, the assistant to his MP Denise Savoie (NDP MP for
Victoria
) for her help. Kelly got on the phone right away and within a few hours
had the name of the fellow at the Parliament Hill sorting plant in
Ottawa
and the okay to deliver the packages during regular office hours.
I
then phoned this man, the manager, Yvez, to make sure he’d be willing to
receive them, if I drove them up from
Barrie
and he said yes, but only if they were individually addressed to MPs …
and not anything to do with the Senators. Those packages would have to be
delivered to another address.
“Senators?”
I asked myself. “Humm …” That got me thinking. One quick call to Hal
and we agreed that we should definitely included the Senators in this 9/11
Truth information blitz. And why not? They had all sorts of time to read
and watch DVDs didn’t they?
Jennifer
and I figured it wouldn’t be that much more work to create a three-book
package for all the 91 senators, so on Tuesday (April 29th) we
spent the day packaging SGCT, GCT2, MO 9/11 and Zeitgeist (Parts 2 and 3)
for all the Senators.
Then
on Wednesday, April 30th we spent the day updating our mailing
to the MPs by creating another package for them which included a new cover
letter and a copy of GCT2 which we hadn’t thought of including the first
time round.
Then
I loaded up the Global Outlook van with the MP mailing which
comprised 40 or so heavy duty Canada Post mail boxes which contained 616
packages of 924 books and 308 DVDs. It looked like the van couldn’t hold
much more, in the way of weight. So I took it for a test drive down the
road and back to and from our storage unit. My friend Steve, a mechanic,
just happened to be there and he looked at it and said, “Sure you can
add the mailing to the Senate provided you put the load in the middle and
not the back of the van.” This added another 11 boxes of books and DVDs
for a total of 1,203 books and 401 DVDs … the largest such one day
mail-out in Global Outlook
history!
On
Thursday, May 1st, I left my home bright and early at 8:35 am
and drove approximately 470 km and 6 hours to
Ottawa
with a FULLY LADEN van load of information for the MPs and Senators. As I
was driving along through
Algonquin
Park
to get there, I realized that this was May 1st, Revolution Day!
What an appropriate day to be delivering these 9/11 Truth Info Paks to our
“fearless” leaders! That is IF I could get them there without
getting a flat, or swerving off the road, as nearly happened when some
pick-up truck crossed the yellow line coming towards me.
Anyway,
I made it to the
Ottawa
sorting plant by 2:30 pm without incident and was very happy to meet the
plant manager, Yvez, who happily accepted all 616 MP packages without
question. What a relief that was! Now, I could see out my back window and
the van felt like it was as light as a feather now that most of the weight
had been removed.
So
it was on to
140 Wellington St.
opposite the Parliament Buildings. I found the perfect parking spot just
around the corner from the front door of The Senate. (I discovered that
they do not have a loading dock.) When I arrived, I explained who had
authorized my delivery: MP Denise Savoie via Kelly Newhook. The security
guard at the desk, with a finely wax-tipped handle-bar mustache said,
“Just because so-and-so says you can deliver your packages here,
doesn’t mean you can do so. How do we know who that person is?” I
gulped and expected a problem. But no, he went on to say, “You have to
follow the guidelines.” “Which are?” I asked. “Give us one of your
packages and we’ll scan it. If it clears security then you can bring the
rest of them in … through the front door.” “Is that all?” I asked.
“Yes, indeed.”
So,
that was about as easy as it got. After 11 trips back and forth to my van,
and after all the boxes had been scanned, they said au
revoir. As I walked out the door, I could see that they were
stamping each parcel as “Received May 1, 2008.” Thank goodness I
decided to take the Senator mailing along for the ride that day! They
probably got their packages first. And more than likely, they’ll be the
ones most likely to enjoy Hal’s book, as it is just about their vintage.
(Hal is 87.)
“Whew!
And Hooray!” I said to myself, as I looked up at the clock on Parliament
Hill. 3:05 pm May 1st. “Hmmm. Not bad for a day’s work! Now
I can check into my hotel and quaff down a nice pint of beer at the Fox
and Feather opposite the hotel!” That’s where I was planning to meet
Kevin Doyle and (later, at the
War
Museum
) Matthew Buechler who is the local
Ottawa
organizer of the “March
on Ottawa" along with fellow activist O'Neil Brooke. (By the way
the march starts from
Montreal
on September 7 and ends up with a demonstration on Parliament Hill on
September 11, 2008.)
While
I was enjoying my beer, I realized that this delivery we had just made
could help kick-start the March on
Ottawa
, just five months away. What with the Victoria and Vancouver 9/11 Truth
Societies having sent letters and DVDs to the MPs earlier and with a
petition arriving via (Libby Davies – NDP MP for Vancouver East) on
August 1st, it would be quite appropriate for Canadians who
couldn’t make the March on Ottawa to phone their MPs (and Senators, for
that matter) to ask them if they had received their 9/11 Truth Info Paks
and if they had had a chance to review the material and, ALSO, did they
agree that we needed a PROPER investigation?
I
figured, that If thousands of Canadians phoned their MPs (Toll Free:
1-866-599-4999) and Senators (Toll Free 1-800-267-7362) about 9/11 Truth,
before the big march, then it would be as if they too were marching to
Ottawa (figuratively speaking) to get an answer as to why the Canadian
government hasn’t PROPERLY investigated the deaths of 24 of its own
citizens on 9/11/01 yet.
So
that’s what happened on the way to Parliament Hill. Thanks for all your
encouragement from our subscribers!
As
Emile Zola once said, “The truth is on the march.” Indeed!
Good
luck to all those who are planning to “march” to
Ottawa
NOW and in September!

A
final note: As it turns out, when totaling all the costs of Global
Outlook’s campaign to “Educate the Parliamentarians about
9/11 Truth” – which included the printing costs of the books we
supplied and the cost of all the DVDs we purchased, plus Jennifer’s time
stuffing and sealing the packages, as well as the cost of my trip to
Ottawa – it equaled about $6,360.00, which was $528.00 less than all the
donations received. The excess funds will be used towards the next
campaign! Once again, thanks to all those who gave us their financial
support in this campaign! WE DID IT!!
