An historic questioning of what really happened on 9/11 –
held in Symphony Space, New York City, September 9, 2004.
This citizen-sponsored commission was one of
two major inquiries which questioned the official 9/11 story held in New York
City, the site of the destruction of the three World Trade Center buildings. The
second inquiry occurred September 11, 2004 at the Manhattan Center’s Grand
Ballroom. The NY phase of hearings was a continuation of the democratic momentum
generated by the International Citizens’ Inquiries into 9/11 held earlier in
2004 – Phase 1 in San Francisco, March 16-18 and Phase 2 in Toronto, May
25-31. It was followed by the Los Angeles Citizens’ 9/11 Grand Jury Hearing,
October 23, 2004.
The format of the NYC 9/11 Citizens’
Commission began with the presentation of evidence from witnesses to a panel of
three commissioners. The commissioners then questioned the witnesses on their
presentations. The hearings concluded with questions and discussion from members
of the audience.
